Argentina's Professional Football League has approved a new competition, the Recopa de Campeones, set to launch in 2027. The decision came from the league's Executive Committee at a meeting in Ezeiza.
The tournament will use a triangular format and bring together the champions of three existing competitions: the Copa Argentina, the Supercopa Argentina, and the Supercopa Internacional.
The league also announced additional changes for 2027. Semifinals of its tournaments will be staged at neutral venues with fans of both teams allowed to attend, and transfer windows will be brought in line with the rest of the CONMEBOL calendar.
The moves are part of a continued restructuring of Argentine football under the leadership of Claudio Tapia.
