Philadelphia Eagles Add Veteran Defensive Back Kenny Moore II

The former Indianapolis Colts cornerback has agreed to a one-year contract that could reach $3 million, per reports.

Kenny Moore II has found a new home after spending months in free agency. Multiple reports indicate the Philadelphia Eagles are adding the 31-year-old defensive back on a one-year contract valued at as much as $3 million.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Philadelphia intends to deploy Moore at both safety and in the nickel corner role. The move adds a versatile piece to a secondary that has been hit by injuries and lost Reed Blankenship to Houston during the offseason.

Moore entered the league as an undrafted rookie and built a nine-year resume entirely with the Colts, who released him not long after the 2026 NFL Draft. His career totals include 649 tackles, 21 interceptions, 68 passes defended, 11.5 sacks, 20 quarterback hits and six forced fumbles, and he has earned Pro Bowl recognition.

Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio had been using Cooper DeJean at safety in base packages following Blankenship's departure. Moore gives the staff another possibility as the unit tries to settle in following a pair of narrow results to begin the campaign.

The former Colt also has prior connections inside the Eagles building, having worked with head coach Nick Sirianni during their shared time in Indianapolis from 2018 through 2020. Reports differ on whether Moore is joining the active roster or the practice squad, and clarification is still pending.
