Great Britain's run at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals ended in the quarter-finals, as Czechia knocked out Anne Keothavong's team in Shenzhen.
The tie opened with a near three-hour contest between Marie Bouzkova and Sonay Kartal. Bouzkova came through 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-4 to put Czechia ahead.
Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova then sealed the tie for Czechia with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win over Katie Boulter. Every member of the Czech squad is ranked above all of Britain's players.
Britain had been aiming to reach the semi-finals for the fourth time in five editions of the competition.
In the men's competition, Britain's Davis Cup team will face Germany in the quarter-finals.
