First NY State Girls Soccer Rankings Feature 18 Section V Teams

Section V places 18 squads in the season's first New York state girls soccer poll, including top-ranked Avon in Class C.

The first New York state girls soccer rankings of the fall 2026 season were released this week, and Section V is well represented with 18 teams earning recognition. Records in the poll reflect results through Saturday, Sept. 19.

Avon is the region's lone No. 1 team, leading Class C with a 5-0-1 record. The class accounts for seven of Section V's ranked teams, also including No. 3 Kendall (5-0-0), No. 6 Byron-Bergen (4-1-1), No. 10 Keshequa (6-1-0), No. 12 Naples (6-1-0), No. 15 Wheatland-Chili (5-2-0), and No. 20 Holley (4-2-1).

Other ranked Section V programs include Class AAA No. 5 Penfield (4-0-1), Class AA No. 3 Aquinas (6-0-0), No. 5 Spencerport (7-0-0) and No. 18 Webster Schroeder (4-1-1), Class A No. 7 Pittsford Sutherland (5-0-1) and No. 18 Wayne (5-0-0), Class B No. 6 Livonia (5-1-0) and No. 16 Hornell (6-1-1), and Class D No. 2 Batavia Notre Dame (4-0-1), No. 14 Northstar Christian (4-1-1) and No. 19 Avoca-Prattsburgh (3-1-0).

Several ranked teams face each other in the coming days. Penfield visits Aquinas on Saturday, while Kendall and Byron-Bergen meet Thursday in a Class C matchup.
