Wales Open Nations League Campaign in Portugal with BBC Coverage

Wales play four Nations League matches in 10 days, starting Thursday against Portugal in Lisbon, with every game available on the BBC.

Wales kick off their UEFA Nations League schedule on Thursday, September 24, traveling to Lisbon to face Portugal in League A Group 4. Kickoff at Cristiano Ronaldo's home ground is set for 19:45 BST. A trip to Denmark follows on Sunday before home dates with Norway on October 1 and Denmark on October 4, all at Cardiff City Stadium.

Every match will be broadcast live in the UK on BBC One, BBC Two Wales and BBC iPlayer, with coverage also on the BBC Sport website and app. Radio commentary can be heard on BBC Sounds through BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru, plus BBC Radio Wales on FM, DAB and DTV. Manager Craig Bellamy, whose 20-match record stands at eight wins, seven draws and five defeats, will be without several key players. Defenders Joe Rodon and Dylan Lawlor were already unavailable, while Harry Wilson, Nathan Broadhead and goalkeeper Karl Darlow miss out through injury. First call-ups have gone to Cian Ashford of Cardiff City, Huddersfield's Joe Taylor and Leicester keeper David Cornell, with Charlie Savage, Mark Harris, Wes Burns and Liam Cullen also recalled.

The group offers a demanding start after Wales failed to reach this summer's World Cup. Portugal and Norway both went deep at that tournament, Denmark are ranked 21st in the world, and the Nations League also serves as a pathway toward Euro 2028 qualification, with the top two advancing to March quarter-finals.
