Parker also contributed on the ground with 10 carries for 53 yards and added two more touchdowns through the air, finishing as the Utes' top playmaker. His versatility makes him a player Iowa State's defense will likely need to account for if the Cyclones hope to pull the upset on the road.
Iowa State arrives at 2-1 overall. The Cyclones opened with a 38-10 win over Southeast Missouri State, then fell 16-13 to in-state rival Iowa before responding with a dominant 55-7 victory over Bowling Green.
The rushing attack powered that Bowling Green win. Running back Aiden Flora rushed 12 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns, while Arnold Barnes III added 63 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
With Iowa State leaning heavily on its ground game, Utah's defense could face a test in containing the Cyclones' running backs. The matchup between Iowa State's rushing attack and Utah's unbeaten defense, which has not allowed a point in its most recent outing, shapes up as a key storyline.
