Head coach Aaron Glenn announced Thursday that Mason Taylor, Kiko and Minkah will sit out Sunday's game against the Lions, while several others are trending in a better direction.
The New York Jets spent Thursday sorting through their medical report, and head coach Aaron Glenn offered a rundown of who will and will not be available when the team travels for its next game. Speaking before the day's practice session, Glenn identified a group of players who will miss the Week 3 contest and a few others whose status is trending positively.
Three names were firmly on the unavailable list. "Mason Taylor, he'll be out. Kiko will be out. Minkah be out," Glenn told reporters. Running back Kene was categorized as doubtful for the game. On the encouraging side, both Osa and Bailey were full participants in practice.
There was one fresh addition to the injury report. Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell is nursing a finger injury and was set to work in a limited capacity during Thursday's practice. Beyond that situation, Glenn indicated the rest of the roster came through in good shape.
The update comes as Glenn navigates his second season at the helm in New York. His first year, 2025, was a difficult one, with the club finishing 3-14. Glenn has spoken about expecting improved results this time around, and the early returns have been more competitive.
Through two weeks of the 2026 campaign, the Jets own a 1-1 record. They opened with a victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, then pushed the Green Bay Packers deep into an overtime period in Week 2 before coming up short.
That 1-1 mark has New York positioned third in the AFC East. The club currently sits ahead of the Miami Dolphins in the standings but remains behind both the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills.
On offense, Geno Smith has operated as the starting quarterback and has compiled 462 passing yards with one touchdown through two games. Breece Hall has carried the load on the ground, rushing 38 times for 131 yards and a score. Garrett Wilson paces the pass catchers with 11 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown.
The Jets will now hit the road for a Week 3 date with the Detroit Lions, with kickoff set for Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. ET.
