Kyren Williams Says He Is OK After Injury Scare in Rams' Loss to Broncos

The Los Angeles Rams fell to the Denver Broncos 30-26 on Sunday Night Football, and the game ended with a brief injury scare involving running back Kyren Williams. Williams appeared to get hurt while making a tackle on the final play, but he confirmed afterward that he is OK, calming the immediate concern in Los Angeles.

Reporter Sarah Barshop relayed the update following the final whistle. She wrote that Williams seemed to be hurt on the last snap of the game, but that he told her he was fine when they spoke. The exchange pointed to a minor issue at worst, and no further medical details were provided.

The scare came at the end of a chaotic final sequence. The Rams were still pushing for a winning score in the closing seconds when Talanoa Hufanga intercepted a Matthew Stafford pass to end the game. The turnover sealed Denver's win and denied Los Angeles a shot at a last-second victory.

How the Rams reached that point made the defeat especially painful. Los Angeles controlled the opening half and carried a 16-0 advantage into the break, only for the game to flip completely after halftime. Denver outscored the Rams 30-10 over the final two quarters to complete the comeback.

Stafford finished with prolific passing numbers that came at a cost. He completed 30 of 55 throws for 390 yards and two touchdowns, but his two interceptions proved decisive in a game Los Angeles once controlled. Even so, the Rams moved the ball effectively through the air for much of the night.

Williams remained a workhorse in his fifth season with the franchise. The running back, who entered the NFL in 2022, carried 15 times for 88 yards and caught six passes for 70 yards. His versatility as a pass catcher has long been central to the Los Angeles offense, and that showed again on Sunday night.

Davante Adams paced the passing game with seven receptions for 137 yards. Konata Mumpfield contributed four catches for 93 yards and a touchdown, while Tyler Higbee added eight receptions for 62 yards and a score. Stafford spread the ball around across the receiving group.

Frustration extended beyond the scoreboard once the game ended. Head coach Sean McVay answered just one question before walking out of his postgame press conference, per the report. Aaron Donald, described as upset after the loss, had nothing to say about McVay's message to the team.

Los Angeles stays on the road for its next opportunity to respond. The Rams visit the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 on Oct. 4, kicking off at 1 p.m. ET. After the late collapse in Denver, the trip offers a quick chance to reset.
