Ryan Fox's Open Win Puts Srixon's New ZXi RKT Drivers in Spotlight

Fox claimed The Open with the ZXi RKT LS+ driver, part of a fully reengineered Srixon metalwood line built for the 2026 season.

Ryan Fox captured The Open Championship in July while playing a Srixon ZXi RKT LS+ driver, a club from the company's newly released ZXi RKT metalwood range that had not yet reached broad retail availability. The victory gave the fresh line an immediate showcase on one of golf's biggest stages.

Srixon treats the 2026 family as a ground-up rebuild rather than a refresh. Development centered on three separate models—the standard ZXi RKT, the high-MOI Max, and the low-spin LS—each intended to suit a different type of golfer. Engineers collaborated extensively with Tour players throughout the project, according to Golf Monthly.

Performance comes from a RKT Face built with a proprietary VR-Titanium alloy containing silicon, designed to add flex across the hitting surface. That face works with an updated i-FLEX structure and dual-zone Rebound Frame technology in pursuit of greater ball speed. An AI-optimized ACOUSTICORE internal rib pattern and a carbon crown were added to shape the club's sound.

Tour results have followed quickly. Shane Lowry rode the same driver family to an 11-shot triumph at the Irish Open earlier this month, per GolfMagic, with both Lowry and Fox choosing LS variants. The LS carries a compact, teardrop-shaped head, while the Max is rounder and built for stability.

With an Open title already secured, the LS model has proven itself on demanding courses, and Srixon now has the equipment credentials to challenge golf's established driver brands.
