Joe Burrow was a full participant early in practice Sept. 23 after taking several big hits in Cincinnati's Week 2 win over Houston.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow took part in practice as a full participant on Sept. 23 as the team began preparations for its Week 3 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. He went through his usual pre-practice routine and stretched alongside teammates, something he skipped the previous week while limited.
Head coach Zac Taylor told reporters before the session that Burrow was dealing with soreness and that the staff would evaluate his workload for the week based on how he responded. Burrow absorbed several heavy hits during Cincinnati's Week 2 road win over the Houston Texans, a game in which he was questionable on the injury report because of a back injury. The team elevated veteran Josh Johnson from the practice squad for that contest.
After the Houston game, Burrow described his own performance as incredibly average, though his first of two touchdown passes to Ja'Marr Chase ranked among the season's top highlights to that point.
Cincinnati will be without wide receiver Andrei Iosivas for at least four games because of a thumb injury. Burrow appeared in only eight games during the 2025 season after a turf-toe injury suffered in a Week 2 win over Jacksonville.
