Who played the most snaps for Texas A&M in the 35-6 loss at LSU

Pro Football Focus data from Texas A&M's Week 4 defeat in Baton Rouge shows which Aggies carried the biggest workloads on each side of the ball.

Texas A&M traveled to Baton Rouge in Week 4 and came away with a 35-6 loss to LSU on Saturday. The snap breakdown from Pro Football Focus shows which Aggies shouldered the heaviest workloads at each position on offense and defense, and the distribution lines up with how lopsided the game turned out to be.

The box score explains much of the gap between the two teams' workloads. Texas A&M's offense generated only 197 total yards across its 63 plays, while LSU piled up 506 yards, a figure that meant 70 snaps of work for the Aggies' defensive unit.

At quarterback, Marcel Reed stayed in the lineup for 59 of the offense's 63 plays, with Brady Hart taking the field for the final four. The four-play cameo by Hart was the only quarterback change of the game.

For the defense, the 70-snap figure marked a steep rise from the previous Saturday, when the unit was on the field for just 55 snaps against Kentucky. LSU's effectiveness throwing the football created much of that burden, with the Aggies' defensive backs forced into extended duty.

The offensive front stayed largely intact. Center Mark Nabou Jr. came off the field for a single snap and finished at 62, while Wilkin Formby and Tyree Adams each contributed 59. Lamont Rogers added 58 snaps and Trovon Baugh 56, giving the line continuity even though the offense could not string together many drives. Blake Ivy's 14 snaps were the most at left guard.

Among the skill positions, Rueben Owens II led the running backs with 36 snaps, with KJ Edwards next at 17. Isaiah Horton paced all wide receivers with 53, Ashton Bethel-Roman rejoined the receiver mix for 36 and Mario Craver added 34. Richie Anderson III topped the tight ends at 27.

On defense, cornerback Dezz Ricks posted the highest snap total of any Texas A&M player on that side of the ball at 61. Linebacker Noah Mikhail followed at 54, with safety Marcus Ratcliffe at 50 and Dalton Brooks at 47 close behind. DJ Hicks paced the defensive interior with 37 snaps, nickel Jordan Shaw recorded 43 and edge Marco Jones finished at 28 to lead his position group.

A pair of depth contributors also drew attention despite the smaller totals. Freshman Landon Rink appeared on defense for 24 snaps and earned the unit's best grade from PFF at 74.0, while Daymion Sanford turned in 17 snaps at linebacker, widening the options at the position after being available only sparingly earlier in the schedule.

Taken as a whole, the numbers reflect a team that rode its primary contributors for nearly the entire contest. Texas A&M now prepares for Arkansas, which visits Kyle Field next, as the Aggies look for improved play from that same core of players.
