ESPN's Dan Graziano reported this week that executives around the NFL are wondering whether the Arizona Cardinals could explore trading wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. ahead of the league's Nov. 10 trade deadline. Harrison was selected fourth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The son of a Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver, Harrison won the 2023 Fred Biletnikoff Award and entered the NFL regarded as a generational prospect. His production in Arizona has not matched that billing, and Yahoo Sports, examining a possible Bills trade, noted he has not shown the consistency expected of a top-five pick.
Harrison's role in the Cardinals offense has shrunk considerably. Through two games in 2026, he has been targeted three times, with one reception for 33 yards.
A proposed Bills package could be built around a fifth-round draft pick plus a player, according to the Yahoo analysis. Because Arizona would need to replace Harrison's snaps, wide receivers Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer were identified as Buffalo players who could be included in such a deal.
Both Coleman and Palmer were drafted the same year as Harrison, and each will eventually be in line for a contract extension, a factor in any trade calculus. So far this season, Palmer has two catches on five targets for 77 yards, both touchdowns, while Coleman has caught all seven of his targets for 64 yards, four of them for first downs.
Injury concerns add context for Buffalo. Coleman is dealing with an ankle issue and DJ Moore has an AC joint sprain; both were listed as questionable for Week 3. Any trade, however, would not be completed in time to help the Bills this week.
Yahoo also cited comments from former NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who argued that Arizona's coaching staff and the presence of tight end Trey McBride have affected Harrison's opportunities rather than the receiver's ability alone.
If acquired, Harrison would join a pass-catching group that includes Moore, Khalil Shakir and tight end Dalton Kincaid in front of quarterback Josh Allen. Harrison remains on a rookie contract, and the analysis characterized a deal as relatively low-risk given his diminished trade value.
Buffalo's next game is Sunday, September 27, when the Bills host the Los Angeles Chargers at 1:00 PM EDT at Highmark Stadium on FOX.
