The short version
- Vikings RB Jordan Mason (thumb) is out; he did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

- Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) and DT Kenneth Grant (lower leg) are out for Miami.
- Dolphins C Aaron Brewer was downgraded to limited Thursday with a hand injury.
- The teams meet Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium in the Vikings' Week 4 home game.
Jordan Mason, De'Von Achane and Kenneth Grant are out for Sunday's game at U.S. Bank Stadium, while Justin Jefferson missed a second straight practice with an ankle injury.
The Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins filed their second injury reports of the week on Thursday ahead of Sunday afternoon's game at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Vikings' Week 4 home date. The reports cover Wednesday and Thursday practice participation, with final game-status designations due when Friday's update is issued.
The listings use the customary participation labels: FP marks a full practice participant, LP a limited participant and DNP a player who did not take part. NIR signals an absence that is not injury related, IR stands for injured reserve, and a player designated out is barred from appearing on game day under league rules.
Minnesota has already ruled out one player. Running back Jordan Mason, who has a thumb injury, sat out both practices and carries an out designation while on injured reserve. He is the only Viking to hold a game designation at this stage of the week.
The biggest name on Minnesota's report is wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who missed a second straight practice with an ankle injury. The report reads his lack of work as a sign he could sit out Sunday, with the Vikings perhaps preferring to give him additional recovery time, though it notes he might still dress in a reduced role if he is able to practice Friday.
Punter Brett Thorson has yet to practice because of a hamstring issue, and the report anticipates Minnesota elevating Johnny Hekker from the practice squad to handle punting and holding again this week. Running back Aaron Jones, listed with a rest designation rather than an injury, was back on the field as a limited participant. Linebacker Blake Cashman was limited both days by an elbow problem, though the report does not expect it to keep him out.
Miami enters the weekend certain to be missing two players. Running back De'Von Achane, a starter, did not practice because of a knee injury and is out on injured reserve, and defensive tackle Kenneth Grant is also out with a lower-leg issue after sitting out the week's sessions as well.
The Dolphins' most significant development Thursday involved center Aaron Brewer, who went from a full participant Wednesday to limited because of a hand injury. The report identifies his Friday status as a detail worth monitoring.
Backup edge defender Rob Beal Jr. (hamstring) and backup wide receiver Caleb Douglas (ankle) also failed to practice for a second day, and the report indicates both appear likely to miss the game.
Miami's remaining list was mostly positive. Long snapper Tucker Addington (shoulder), wide receiver Chris Bell (knee) and cornerback Storm Duck (knee) were limited participants, and running back Jaylen Wright (foot) progressed to full participation Thursday. Defensive lineman Zeek Biggers (ankle), cornerback JuJu Brents (knee/heel), safety Dante Trader (groin), tight end Seydou Traore (thumb) and edge rusher Josh Uche (foot) practiced fully on both days.
