Fantasy Waiver Wire Targets Emerge After Week 2 Injuries

The short version
- Jonah Coleman scored his first NFL touchdown while J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey deal with hamstring injuries
- Bryce Young ranks as the fantasy QB2 with seven total touchdowns through two games
- Denzel Boston leads Browns receivers in yards and targets as a rookie
- Oronde Gadsden is the Chargers' only healthy tight end after injuries to Charlie Kolar and David Njoku
Rookies Jonah Coleman and Denzel Boston are among the widely available players gaining fantasy relevance heading into Week 3.
Injuries and surprise performances in Week 2 have created new fantasy football opportunities on the waiver wire heading into Week 3. A Yahoo Sports analysis highlighted players rostered in fewer than 60 percent of ESPN leagues, led by Denver Broncos rookie running back Jonah Coleman and Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston.
Coleman, a fourth-round pick, saw an expanded role against Jacksonville because J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are dealing with hamstring injuries. He out-touched Dobbins, scored his first career touchdown and finished with 14.9 fantasy points. Broncos coach Sean Payton said both injured backs have a chance to return in Week 3 depending on practice availability.
At quarterback, Houston's C.J. Stroud has totaled 627 passing yards and two touchdowns through two weeks while being rostered in only 29 percent of leagues. Carolina's Bryce Young is currently the QB2 in fantasy with 648 passing yards and seven total touchdowns, and both face favorable matchups this week.
Boston has become a leading option in Cleveland's passing game, leading the Browns in receiving yards and targets after catching five passes for 95 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. Texans tight end Dalton Schultz caught 12 passes for 140 yards with Nico Collins out, while Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden is set for a larger role after injuries to Charlie Kolar and David Njoku.
Other names flagged include Seattle's Emanuel Wilson, Philadelphia's Tank Bigsby and Dontayvion Wicks, the Jets' Adonai Mitchell and New Orleans' Alvin Kamara, who returned from an MCL sprain and led the Saints backfield in carries, targets and receptions.
