Party Animals Face Indianapolis Clowns as Banana Ball Comes to Progressive Field

Banana Ball, the modified exhibition version of baseball, arrives in Northeast Ohio this week for two games at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians are out of town, playing in Kansas City, Missouri. The Party Animals will take on the Indianapolis Clowns on both Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26, with first pitch set for 7 p.m. ET each night.
Viewers can stream both contests through the Party Animals YouTube page. Saturday's game is also carried on DirecTV and available via Prime Video, Fubo, Stadium and the Bally Sports live app; no television channel is listed for Friday.
The Banana Ball website shows both dates as sold out, though tickets remain on some resale platforms — StubHub listed roughly 2% of inventory remaining for the Sept. 26 game. A face-value resale option, Fans First Ticket Marketplace, is also open to fans.
The format differs sharply from standard baseball. Games are capped at two hours, with no new inning permitted after one hour and 50 minutes. Innings are worth a point apiece, bunting is banned and punishable by ejection, batters cannot leave the box between pitches, and walks are replaced by a 'Ball-Four Sprint.' Fans who catch a foul ball in the stands retire the batter, and ties are settled by a three-round Showdown rather than extra innings.
The league grew from four teams to six this season, fielding the Savannah Bananas, Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, Indianapolis Clowns and Loco Beach Coconuts. The Savannah Bananas, the circuit's best-known attraction, are not part of the Cleveland stop; they played in Cincinnati at Great American Ball Park in late June.
