The 2026 Presidents Cup begins Thursday, Sept. 24 at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago, with the United States facing the International team over four days and five sessions. The Americans arrive as heavy favorites, having won 10 straight editions and 13 of the last 15. The International side, captained by Geoff Ogilvy, is trying to win on American soil for the first time after lopsided losses in the last two editions.
Brandt Snedeker captains the U.S. squad, which includes world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. One of Snedeker's captain's picks, Jackson Koivun, turned professional this summer and won the 3M Open, while JJ Spaun, fresh off a BMW PGA Championship win on the DP World Tour, was left off the team. Scheffler carries a 3-5-1 Presidents Cup record, including 0-2 in singles, despite his dominant world ranking.
The format opens with four four-ball matches Thursday and four foursomes matches Friday. Saturday splits into a morning four-ball session and an afternoon foursomes session, and Sunday closes with 12 singles matches featuring every player. Each match is worth one point, ties earn half a point for each side, and the first team to 15.5 points wins. A 15-15 overall tie means the cup is shared.
Golf Channel carries coverage Thursday (12:30-7 p.m. ET) and Friday (2-7 p.m. ET), with streaming on GolfChannel.com. Saturday's action runs 8-9 a.m. on Golf Channel and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on NBC, with Peacock streaming the NBC window. Sunday's singles air 12-6 p.m. on NBC and stream on Peacock.
