Audio published by the NFL on Twitter captured the Bengals quarterback speaking with wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins at the sideline, explaining that an impact had knocked a displaced rib back where it belonged. He added on the clip that the area felt improved afterward. He had also been recorded after the game thanking Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. for the adjustment, a comment widely read as tongue-in-cheek at the time.
