Auburn dropped eight spots to No. 44 in Paul Myerberg's weekly USA TODAY re-rank of all 138 FBS teams after losing to Florida in Week 3. The five-point home defeat was the Tigers' first loss under first-year head coach Alex Golesh and came in their SEC opener.
Auburn had been trending upward before Saturday. The Tigers opened the season at No. 63, climbed to No. 39 after beating Baylor in Week 1 and moved up to No. 36 following a Week 2 win over Southern Miss.
Next up is Vanderbilt, which sits at No. 34 in this week's re-rank after beating NC State on a last-second field goal. The Commodores have won the last two meetings in the series, which Auburn could pull even at 23-23-1 by winning.
The Tigers and Commodores kick off Saturday at 3:15 p.m. CT at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, with the game televised on SEC Network.
