The Panthers have a need in the backfield after Jonathon Brooks was ruled out for multiple weeks with a core injury, leaving Chuba Hubbard as the top rushing option.
Ekeler, 31, has not appeared in a game since tearing his Achilles early in the 2025 season while with the Washington Commanders. He entered the league as an accomplished receiving back.
