Former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman says defending Josh Allen presents the same challenge as preparing for Lamar Jackson.
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have opened the season with wins over the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions. Through two games, Allen has thrown for 582 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions.
Speaking on FOX Sports, Rob Gronkowski said it is "impossible to prepare" for Allen because of his all-around skill set. Gronkowski also called Allen a great pocket passer.
Julian Edelman built on the point with a comparison to Baltimore's Lamar Jackson. He noted that the traits often credited to Jackson apply equally to Allen.
"It's hard to prepare for Josh Allen because when you see him in real life, he's bigger than what you think, he's faster than what you think, and the ball comes off his arm quicker than you like to think," Edelman said.
Both Edelman and Gronkowski won three championships alongside Tom Brady with the New England Patriots. The Bills look to move to 3-0 when they host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
