Kansas City edged Las Vegas 30-27, San Francisco downed Denver and Minnesota beat Miami as the NFL's unbeaten ranks were cut from five to three in week four.
Five teams began NFL week four without a loss; only three still have perfect records after Sunday's games. The Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings all moved to 4-0, while the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams avoided slipping to 1-3 with significant victories away from home. The day's action began in London, where the Indianapolis Colts beat the Washington Commanders in the first of three games staged there this season.
Kansas City was tested by division rival Las Vegas, which won only three games a year ago. The Raiders led 13-10 through three quarters in Las Vegas before the fourth produced three lead changes and a 30-27 Chiefs win. New running back Kenneth Walker kept up his fast start by reaching the end zone twice within 19 seconds — the Chiefs forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff return — and he finished with 177 yards on 22 carries. Teammate Tyquan Thornton contributed two touchdowns and 111 receiving yards.
Brock Bowers' score kept the Raiders within reach, and Las Vegas still had a chance on the game's final play, but Kirk Cousins was hit as he released and his off-target throw was picked off. The Chiefs, who missed the play-offs last season, next meet the Los Angeles Chargers, now 0-4 after a 30-23 loss to the defending champion Seattle Seahawks.
San Francisco beat the Denver Broncos 24-14 at home in a game that stood 3-3 until late in the third quarter. Christian McCaffrey's fourth-quarter touchdown created separation, Jaylen Waddle answered for a Denver team that upset the Rams the previous week, and George Kittle put the result away on a long catch-and-run up the middle. Brock Purdy shares the NFL lead of 11 touchdown passes with Cousins and has thrown one interception with no sacks through four games.
Minnesota, the most unexpected member of the unbeaten group, made it four straight wins by defeating the Miami Dolphins 15-10, relying on five field goals from Will Reichard.
Drake Maye answered questions about his confidence that arose when he was benched during New England's lopsided loss at Jacksonville last week. The 24-year-old had thrown six interceptions against one touchdown pass over the first three games, after eight interceptions across the 2025 regular season. In Buffalo, Josh Allen's 34-yard touchdown to Keon Coleman with four minutes left restored the Bills' lead, but Efton Chism's one-handed grab in the end zone put the Patriots back in front, and an interception of Allen's late heave sealed a 29-26 win. Maye threw for 269 yards and three scores; he narrowly lost 2025 MVP voting to the Rams' Matt Stafford after taking New England on a surprise Super Bowl run, and Buffalo now visits Los Angeles in a matchup of the league's two installed Super Bowl favourites.
The Rams entered Philadelphia at 1-2 after losing at Denver last Monday and trailed 20-10 at halftime following two Darius Cooper touchdowns, but won 24-20 as Kyren Williams ran for two scores inside the final four minutes. Puka Nacua, back to full fitness, posted 125 receiving yards and a touchdown for Los Angeles. Philadelphia's injury list grew longer: wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) were unavailable, and running back Saquon Barkley exited early with a hamstring problem.
The Eagles face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday against a team coming off a second consecutive win, 22-17 over the Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore also has a fitness concern, with two-time MVP Lamar Jackson (ankle) unable to play the second half of a 24-18 home win over the Tennessee Titans.
Every Dallas Cowboys game this season has produced at least 48 points, and the Cowboys' 34-30 victory at in-state rival Houston fit the pattern. The Texans led 23-13 after Nico Collins' second touchdown and 30-27 with two minutes left before Dak Prescott directed an 11-play, 74-yard drive capped by a scoring pass to CeeDee Lamb. Lamb set a career high with 17 receptions for 189 yards and leads the NFL with 498 receiving yards, while Javonte Williams rushed for three touchdowns as Dallas evened its record at 2-2. The New York Giants were Sunday's highest scorers in a 36-24 home win over the Arizona Cardinals, with Jameis Winston throwing three touchdown passes and two interceptions while replacing the injured Jaxson Dart, and the Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers after weathering a late rally.
