Both Harlan and Green have deep connections to the franchise. Green started at quarterback for Kansas City for six seasons, a run that included a division title, two playoff appearances and two Pro Bowl selections. He now works as a preseason color analyst for the team.
Harlan's history with the Chiefs goes back even further, as he called their games for nine seasons from 1985 to 1993. One of his more memorable national calls came in 2019, when he shifted to the Dolphins-Patriots telecast during the Chargers-Chiefs game; New England's loss helped Kansas City secure the AFC's No. 2 seed and a first-round playoff bye.
