Sporting News senior NFL writer Vinnie Iyer proposed a bolder move: trading for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 draft. Iyer described Richardson as a wildcard option, noting the Colts sit at 0-2 and could become sellers.

Iyer argued that Giants coaches, including offensive assistant Greg Roman, who previously worked with running quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Lamar Jackson, could provide the support Richardson needs for a fresh start.
