Colts see Ward return to practice ahead of Week 3 matchup with Texans

The short version
- Charvarius Ward (groin) returned as a limited participant Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice.
- Jonathan Taylor and Keenan Allen practiced fully after Wednesday rest days.
- Ashton Dulin (ankle) remained out of practice after missing last week's game.
- Alec Pierce (heel) has not yet been placed on injured reserve, but the move is expected.
Cornerback Charvarius Ward was back as a limited participant Thursday after a groin injury kept him out of Wednesday's session.
The Indianapolis Colts welcomed cornerback Charvarius Ward back to the practice field on Thursday as they continued preparing for their Week 3 game against the Houston Texans. Ward sat out Wednesday's session because of a groin injury, the same issue that forced him to leave early during the Colts' Week 2 game against Kansas City.
Ward was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Beyond his return, the team's second injury report of the week looked largely similar to the first.
Running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Keenan Allen were full participants on the second day of practice after both were given rest days on Wednesday. Defensive tackle Grover Stewart, in turn, had Thursday as his rest day.
Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell (shoulder), cornerback Sauce Gardner (rib), and offensive lineman Matt Goncalves (foot) were all full participants for a second straight day.
Wide receiver Ashton Dulin remains sidelined with an ankle injury and has not practiced. He also missed all of last week's practices and did not suit up against the Chiefs.
Fellow wideout Alec Pierce, who is dealing with a heel issue, has not yet been moved to injured reserve, though the Colts are expected to make that roster transaction in the near future.
