Dana White's Contender Series 93 delivered a standout finish on Tuesday, as Marcos Degli halted Paris Moran in the second round at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Competing at flyweight, Degli (15-3) locked in a standing rear-naked choke that produced a tap at 4:55 of the frame.
The victory ran the Brazilian's unbeaten run to 13 straight outings and strengthened his push for a spot on the UFC roster. Degli is a former LFA flyweight champion and, at 26, has now beaten Moran (14-4) on the sport's premier audition stage.
Speaking afterward through an interpreter with Laura Sanko, Degli said he wants to prove his game extends beyond knockouts. "I want to show people that I can submit people," he said, adding that he hopes for the chance to display more of his skill set inside the UFC.
