Travis Hunter's Two-Way Role Limited in First Two Jaguars Games

The rookie has started both games at cornerback for Jacksonville but has seen only 11 snaps on offense.

Travis Hunter's much-watched two-way experiment with the Jacksonville Jaguars has gotten off to a modest start. Through two games, the rookie has started at cornerback and logged 66 defensive snaps, which works out to 58 percent of the team's defensive plays, according to Pro Football Reference.

On defense, Hunter has not been targeted often. Quarterbacks have thrown his way four times, completing three passes for a total of 28 yards. He has recorded one pass breakup but was also flagged for a penalty against Denver that gave the Broncos the ball near the goal line.

The limited defensive workload stems from Jacksonville rotating its cornerbacks, with Montaric Brown and Jarrian Jones also taking regular snaps on the outside. Head coach Liam Coen indicated Monday that the rotation is likely to continue.

Hunter's offensive role has been even smaller. He has appeared on just 11 offensive snaps and has one catch, an eight-yard gain on a reception near the line of scrimmage.
