Vansh Bedi Rejects Link to Cricket Sting Operation Claims

The Delhi wicketkeeper-batter says he is not the unnamed CSK player in the case and that his lawyers are pursuing action over the claims.

Delhi wicketkeeper-batter Vansh Bedi has publicly rejected suggestions that he is the unidentified Chennai Super Kings player at the center of a sting operation concerning alleged misuse of confidential team information in Indian cricket.

Bedi, who was with the CSK squad during the 2025 Indian Premier League and subsequently turned out for Central Delhi Kings in the Delhi Premier League, issued a statement on Instagram on Tuesday. His name had begun spreading on social media after an undercover investigation featuring former domestic cricketer Rachit Bhatia.

In the post, Bedi said he was not the person Bhatia referred to and had no part in any alleged match-fixing activity. He described efforts to tie him to the matter as defamatory and said his lawyers had begun pursuing civil and criminal remedies against those spreading the claims.

The undercover report itself did not name Bedi as the player who allegedly passed confidential information to Bhatia; his name only gained traction online afterward.

Separately on Tuesday, the Delhi & District Cricket Association described media reports of corruption in the Delhi Premier League as unverified. The association said no competent authority had established the allegations, declined to draw conclusions about any individual, player or franchise, and confirmed it had written to the relevant authorities asking that the matter be examined through established processes.
