High school football in the Chillicothe, Ohio area reaches the midpoint of the regular season in Week 6, with all 10 local programs either already in conference play or starting league action this weekend.
Unbeaten Chillicothe (5-0) travels to McClain (4-1) after averaging 38.4 points per game in the first half of the season. Cartae Ligon scored eight touchdowns in last week's win over Wilmington. McClain's four wins have come against opponents with a combined 7-18 record, and Chillicothe is 18-2 in the past 20 meetings between the schools.
Other games include Adena (3-2) at Unioto (4-1), which has won its last two games by a combined 92-19; Piketon (3-2) at Zane Trace (4-1), coming off a 41-0 win over Adena; and Southeastern (4-1) at Huntington (3-2), where the Panthers are off to their best start since 2019 behind quarterback Brayden Burns.
Two winless teams meet when Paint Valley (0-5) visits Westfall (0-5), where Westfall has been outscored 207-69 and Paint Valley 218-55 this season. Westfall leads the all-time series 34-29 but is 2-8 in the last 10 meetings.
Waverly (2-3) hosts Oak Hill (0-5) after being shut out 28-0 by Portsmouth West. Oak Hill has scored no more than 12 points in a game this season, and its opponents have scored at least 26 in every contest.
