The Week 6 high school football power rankings for the Cox First Media coverage area show teams beginning to separate as the season reaches its midpoint. Trotwood moved into the top spot in Division II on the strength of a 72-0 win over Cincinnati Taft, improving to 4-1 ahead of a home game against Cathedral (Ind.).
Lakota West stayed at No. 1 in Division I despite a 27-24 road loss to Princeton, and now sits 4-1 heading into a home matchup with Fairfield (2-3). Lakota East (4-1) holds the No. 2 spot after beating Hamilton 37-13 and hosts undefeated Princeton (5-0) on Friday. Coldwater (4-1) remained No. 1 in Division V even after falling 24-21 at Minster.
The Week 6 slate features several matchups between ranked teams. No. 3 Valley View (3-2) travels to No. 1 Oakwood (5-0) in Division IV, Division V No. 3 Fenwick (3-2) visits Division III No. 3 Alter (3-2) at Bellbrook High School, and Division VII No. 1 Marion Local (5-0) goes to Division VI No. 2 St. Henry (3-2).
Other top-ranked teams include Bellbrook (5-0) in Division III, Tri-Village (5-0) in Division VI, and Marion Local (5-0) in Division VII. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, unless otherwise noted.
