Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters Monday that his winless team is treating the season as one difficult 17-week stretch and focusing on each opponent individually.
The Chargers dropped their opening two games at home despite being heavy favorites against Arizona and Las Vegas, teams that combined for six wins last season. The losses came against Jacoby Brissett and Kirk Cousins at quarterback.
The schedule now turns sharply harder. Between Weeks 3 and 10, Los Angeles faces Buffalo, Seattle, Denver, Kansas City, the Rams, Houston and Baltimore, with five of those seven games away from home. The Chargers open the stretch Sunday as big road underdogs against the Bills.
Buffalo's Josh Allen has been dominant early, producing nine touchdowns in two games while completing 66.7% of his passes. He has generated 79% of the Bills' total yardage and 90% of their touchdowns on a team averaging 38.5 points per contest.
Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert, meanwhile, is completing fewer than 60% of his passes, which would be a career low if it holds.
