Oxford Police Department and Ole Miss Police Department released reports on Tuesday, Sept. 22 covering the Rebels' first two home football weekends of the season, including the Week 3 victory over LSU in Oxford, Mississippi.
The LSU weekend produced 34 arrests, two more than the 32 recorded during the Week 2 home opener against Charlotte, according to the data first reported by The Clarion-Ledger. Overall reports also rose, from 53 in Week 2 to 81 in Week 3. Ole Miss Police logged 39 incidents during the LSU weekend, 15 more than the Charlotte weekend.
The Clarion-Ledger detailed that the weekend included six disorderly conduct cases, five disturbances, one aggravated assault on a police officer, and one instance of EMS being used for an intoxicated person inside the stadium.
Security was heightened for the game, with ESPN's College GameDay in town and former Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin making his first return to Oxford since leaving.
On the field, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw for 363 yards and accounted for three total touchdowns in the Rebels' 32-24 win. Ole Miss next travels to face No. 22 Florida in Week 4.
