Texas A&M and Arkansas meet on Saturday, Oct. 3, in a Week 5 Southeastern Conference game at Kyle Field in College Station, with both teams entering at 2-2. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT, and ESPN2 will carry the broadcast.
Cord-cutters have several streaming options for the ESPN2 telecast. Sling TV offers short-term one-day passes starting at $4.99. FuboTV costs $63.99 for the first month and $88.99 per month after that, with a five-day free trial, while DIRECTV STREAM runs $59.99 for the first month and $89.99 monthly thereafter. Hulu + Live TV is priced at $89.99 per month with a three-day free trial and includes Disney+ and ESPN Unlimited, and YouTube TV charges $52.99 per month for the first three months, then $82.99, with a free trial of variable length.
The Aggies opened the season with a 50-0 win over Missouri State and a 48-20 win over Arizona State, then dropped conference games to Kentucky (31-21) and No. 10 LSU (35-6) to sit at 2-2 overall and 0-2 in SEC play. Another loss would give Texas A&M just its second three-game losing streak of the Mike Elko era. Arkansas is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the league, having beaten two smaller programs comfortably in between defeats against No. 2 Georgia by 28 points and No. 20 Utah by 33.
Saturday's game is the 83rd between the programs, whose rivalry began in 1903. The two were among the Southwest Conference's first members and shared that league for roughly eight decades before it dissolved in the mid-1990s. Arkansas had left for the SEC a few years earlier, while the Aggies joined the Big 12, and the schools then went 15 years without playing each other.
The series resumed as a nonconference matchup in 2008, one year before Texas A&M joined the SEC. From 2009 through 2024, 13 of the 16 meetings were played at a neutral site in Arlington, Texas, and Arkansas won only one of those games in the Dallas area.
Arkansas leads the all-time series 42-37-3, though the Aggies have claimed 13 of the last 14 meetings. The matchups have frequently been tight, with eight games since 2014 decided by one possession, including last season's 45-42 Texas A&M win.
DraftKings listed Texas A&M as a 14-point favorite as of Friday morning, with the Aggies at -625 on the moneyline and Arkansas at +455 and an over/under of 50½ points. ESPN Analytics gives Texas A&M an 86.7% chance to win. Among individual picks, Jacob Davis of Arkansas on SI forecast a 17-14 Aggies win, Dylan Flippo of Aggies Wire chose Texas A&M 30-20, and Pete Fiutak of collegefootballnews.com went with the Aggies 34-20.
The schedule does not get easier for Texas A&M after Saturday. The Aggies visit No. 25 Missouri in Week 6, host The Citadel and then travel to No. 7 Alabama before a Week 9 bye. The closing stretch brings a trip to South Carolina, a home date with No. 17 Tennessee, a road game at Oklahoma and a Week 13 home matchup against No. 1 Texas.
