Ramon focused on Como despite Real Madrid buy-back option

Jacobo Ramon says he is concentrating on the present at Como rather than a potential return to Real Madrid, who retain a buy-back option on the defender. Speaking to EFE while with Spain's Under-21 squad, the centre-back said he is happy in Italy and wants to help his team win as many games as possible this season.
Ramon came through Real Madrid's academy and made his first-team debut in January 2025 before moving to Como, where he now plays under head coach Cesc Fabregas. He said the number of academy graduates leaving the club reflects well on the youth system, since they earn playing time elsewhere that they would not get in the first team.
Asked whether he envied Barcelona's willingness to promote young players, Ramon said he felt none, adding that each player chooses the path and timing that suits them best. He noted that he debuted alongside several academy teammates and expects more to follow.
On the Ballon d'Or, Ramon backed former teammate Kylian Mbappe, naming him and Lamine Yamal as the leading candidates. He also said Toni Kroos and Luka Modric were the players who impressed him most in training, while Mbappe and Vinicius were the hardest to face.
