Jared Anderson says he is healed and targeting late-2026 return

The Toledo heavyweight, sidelined since February 2025 by a biceps injury, told The Ring he is ready to fight and named David Adeleye and Dave Allen as possible opponents.

Heavyweight Jared Anderson says he is closing in on a return to boxing after a biceps injury scrapped a planned fight with Solomon Dacres. Speaking to The Ring, the 26-year-old from Toledo, Ohio, said he has been rehabbing at the University of Toledo and believes he is fully recovered.

Anderson (18-1, 15 KOs) has not fought since February 14, 2025, when he beat Marios Kollias by unanimous decision. His only career defeat came in 2024, when Martin Bakole stopped him on the Terence Crawford-Israil Madrimov undercard.

A rematch of sorts with Dacres is off the table for now, as Dacres is scheduled to face Bakhodir Jalolov on October 17 on the undercard of the second Daniel Dubois-Fabio Wardley fight. Anderson said he expects to fight again later this year regardless of the opponent.

"I would like to fight someone like David Adeleye (14-2, 13 KOs) or Dave Allen (27-9-2, 20 KOs)," Anderson said. "I'm ready to fight anyone that is going to be a stepping stone for me to get to the next big one."

Anderson, who once spoke about retiring around age 27, said he no longer intends to set a firm exit date. "I'm not going to put a date on it anymore, but I'm not trying to be here for another 15 years either," he said.
