Wade Waldrop earned JBT Power Coach of the Week honors after guiding Orange Beach to an undefeated start and first place in Region 4A-1.
Wade Waldrop, head coach of the Orange Beach Makos, has been named the JBT Power Coach of the Week for the fifth week of the Friday Night Football season.
Waldrop has Orange Beach off to a 5-0 start, good for first place in the 4A-1 region. The Makos defense has been a major factor, limiting opponents to an average of nine points per game.
The honor is not the first of Waldrop's career. He was previously recognized as Coach of the Year in 2019 by the Alabama Football Coaches Association while at James Clemens High School.
Orange Beach enters the week off a 43-6 home victory over the B.C. Rain Raiders. The Makos are set to host the Marion Rams, who enter at 1-3.
