Jordan Love says Packers' run-game woes are fixable ahead of Falcons matchup

The short version
- Green Bay rushed for 66 yards in Week 1 and 63 in its Week 2 overtime win over the Jets.
- Jordan Love said the run-game problems are correctable execution issues, not scheme failures.
- Josh Jacobs remains on the commissioner's exempt list while awaiting a possible suspension.
- MarShawn Lloyd, Kaleb Johnson and Chris Brooks have handled carries in Jacobs's absence.
- The Packers visit the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night in Week 3.
The Green Bay quarterback pointed to execution and missed assignments, not a broken scheme, as the cause of two sluggish rushing performances.
The Green Bay Packers have opened the season with one of the league's least productive ground games, managing 66 rushing yards in a Week 1 loss to Minnesota and just 63 more in Sunday's 20-17 overtime win over the New York Jets.
Quarterback Jordan Love addressed the issue Tuesday, telling USA Today's Ryan Wood that the problems stem from execution rather than any fundamental flaw. He cited missed blocking assignments and running backs not trusting their reads as the main culprits.
"It's not like we have this terrible running game," Love said. "I think it's just us going out and executing and doing our job, and I think we'll be better."
The Packers have been without lead back Josh Jacobs, who remains on the commissioner's exempt list while awaiting a possible suspension. MarShawn Lloyd, Kaleb Johnson and Chris Brooks have split the carries in his absence.
Love acknowledged that losing Jacobs is a difficult blow but expressed confidence in the available backs. Green Bay will look to rebound on the ground when it faces the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night in Week 3.
