With two tight ends lost to injured reserve, Los Angeles brought in Hayden Rucci and cut wide receiver Gary Jennings, per Yahoo Sports.
The Los Angeles Chargers have signed tight end Hayden Rucci to their active roster, Yahoo Sports reported Wednesday. The move comes after the team placed tight ends Charlie Kolar and David Njoku on injured reserve this week. To clear room, the club released wide receiver Gary Jennings.
Rucci, who previously spent time with Miami and San Francisco, joins Oronde Gadsden II as the only tight ends on the Chargers roster as of Wednesday morning. His lone regular-season NFL action came in 2025, when he appeared in four games for the Dolphins and logged 39 snaps, most of them as a run blocker. He earned a 56.6 run-block grade for that season.
A Wisconsin product, Rucci caught 17 passes for 200 yards and one touchdown over his college career. At the NFL Combine, he measured 6-foot-5 and 247 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.04 seconds, posted a 32-inch vertical, and recorded a 4.40 short shuttle.
