Michigan State has published its complete men's basketball schedule for the 2026-27 season, the 32nd on the bench for head coach Tom Izzo. The program opened practice shortly before the official start of college basketball on Tuesday, Sept. 22, with the season built toward a potential Final Four appearance in Detroit.
The Spartans begin with three exhibitions: Incarnate Word at home on Oct. 2, Connecticut on Oct. 20 and a trip to Marquette on Oct. 25. The regular season tips off Nov. 2 at home against Quinnipiac, followed by Toledo on Nov. 5 and a Champions Classic matchup with Duke in Chicago on Nov. 10.
Other nonconference highlights include a game at Tennessee on Nov. 17, Arkansas at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on Nov. 26, and Gonzaga in Palm Desert, California, on Dec. 19 as part of the Acrisure Series. Big Ten play runs from a Dec. 2 home game against Minnesota through the regular-season finale against Wisconsin on March 6.
The conference slate includes road games at UCLA, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Northwestern, with home dates against Purdue, Oregon and both Michigan and Nebraska.
