Giovanni Tuggle, a four-star safety from Barrow High School in Winder, Georgia, announced his commitment to Ole Miss after spending the weekend in Oxford. The junior is rated the No. 4 safety nationally and the No. 63 overall prospect in the 2028 class by the Rivals Industry.
Tuggle, listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, selected the Rebels over LSU, Florida State and other suitors. He becomes the fourth member of Ole Miss's 2028 recruiting class and the second pledge since the weekend, joining fellow four-star safety Braylen Bedford.
The decision came down to comfort and coaching. "It just felt like home to me," Tuggle said, praising head coach Pete Golding as a strong defensive mind and a good person.
Playing in front of the Oxford crowd left an impression on the blue-chip defender. "The atmosphere was amazing," he said. "I didn't know it was going to be like that for my first game."
On his third trip to campus, Tuggle said conversations with Coach Woodson remained consistent, centering on a three-year plan, the defensive scheme, and how the staff develops its players.
