Notre Dame Kicker Spencer Porath Set for Return Trip to Purdue

The former Boilermakers kicker heads back to Ross-Ade Stadium for the first time since transferring to Notre Dame without entering the portal.

Notre Dame kicker Spencer Porath is scheduled to return to Ross-Ade Stadium this weekend, marking his first game at Purdue since he left the program following the 2025 season. He spent two years with the Boilermakers before enrolling at Notre Dame for the spring semester without entering the transfer portal or informing the Purdue staff of his plans.

Special teams coordinator Marty Biagi said the program treats such games like any other, using sports psychology support to keep the focus on the opponent rather than the setting. He noted the approach mirrors how Notre Dame handled other returning transfers in recent seasons.

Porath has made five of six field goals for the Irish, with his only miss a 39-yard attempt against Michigan State. Biagi said the kicker diagnosed the swing flaw on his own and asked for another chance rather than reviewing video on the tablet.

At Purdue last season, Porath converted 15 of 17 field-goal attempts. His replacement, freshman Jacobo Echeverria Lozano, has made seven of eight tries this year with a long of 39 yards.

In August, Porath told reporters he expected the return to Purdue to be a positive experience, saying he enjoyed his time with the school's coaches and players.
