Price says he passed on Texas Tech to stay at Notre Dame

The Seahawks rookie explained that a big-money pitch from Texas Tech nearly lured him away, but he chose to honor his Notre Dame commitment.
Former Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price faced his old backfield partner Jeremiyah Love as an NFL opponent on Sunday, when Seattle beat Arizona 31-7. Price carried 13 times for 52 yards and added an 8-yard reception, while Love rushed 9 times for 29 yards for the Cardinals.
Speaking with reporters afterward, Price described his Notre Dame relationship with Love as a friendly competition. Last season the pair accounted for 2,046 yards on the ground and 345 through the air, plus 34 combined touchdowns, as the Fighting Irish went 10-2.
Price acknowledged he came close to leaving South Bend. He said Texas Tech pursued him, and the temptation peaked when his mother learned what the school was putting on the table.
"I was really close (to leaving) when my mom heard about what Texas Tech was offering," Price said. "I told her, 'Just wait until the NFL money hits. We'll be good.' She trusted me on that, and look what happened."
Money was not the only factor. Price said remaining at Notre Dame was about living up to the pledge he had made to the school, his teammates, and the coaching staff. The choice cost him nothing in the end: Love went third overall to Arizona, and Price followed at No. 32 to Seattle, also in the first round.
