Seahawks Put 12-Game Win Streak on Line Against Winless Commanders in Week 3

Seattle, the defending Super Bowl champions, host 0-2 Washington with Drew Lock possibly starting again at quarterback.

The Washington Commanders visit the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 sitting at 0-2, with Marcus Mariota expected to remain at quarterback. The Seahawks, by contrast, are the defending Super Bowl champions and carry a 12-game winning streak dating to mid-November of last season.

Seattle may again turn to backup quarterback Drew Lock. Filling in in Week 2, Lock threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns and has completed 72.9 percent of his passes across two games. Head coach Mike Macdonald praised Lock's play, saying the team was proud of how he performed.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is coming off a dominant outing against the Arizona Cardinals with nine catches, 155 yards and three touchdowns. ESPN's Tristan Cockcroft noted Smith-Njigba set a new personal best with 42.5 fantasy points last week and cited his chemistry with Lock.

For Washington, running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt figures to see a heavier workload. Head coach Dan Quinn pointed to the rookie's quickness and improved strength, saying the zone-run scheme suits his cutback ability and that he needs more reps.

Veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been the Commanders' most productive receiver through two games, ahead of Terry McLaurin. Rookie receiver Antonio Williams said adjusting from college to the NFL has been the biggest challenge but that growing comfort with the playbook has him playing faster.
