Ja'Marr Chase bounced back from a quiet opener with seven receptions, 75 yards and two touchdowns in Cincinnati's road win over Houston.
Cincinnati improved to 2-0 with a 20-6 victory over the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. After managing only two receptions for 12 yards in a Week 1 win against Tampa Bay, wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was targeted heavily from the start and finished with seven catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Chase's first score came on a 32-yard reception that showcased his body control, concentration and footwork against cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. His second was an 18-yard touchdown on a scramble-drill play, with Chase breaking to the right side of the end zone after Joe Burrow signaled him out of the pocket to give the Bengals a 17-3 lead.
Burrow completed 20 of 31 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns with a 105.2 passer rating despite dealing with back tightness and taking five sacks. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, acquired by Cincinnati in a trade, made a pivotal fourth-down stop on David Montgomery on a run play needing only inches, while linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr. paced the team with 12 tackles.
The Bengals now head to Pittsburgh for an AFC North matchup.
