Seoul E-Land FC enter the final stretch of the K League 2 season in third place with six matches remaining. The club has lost only once in its last twelve games, a 1-0 defeat to Suwon Samsung Bluewings in mid-August, though four draws in that span cost the team points in the standings.
Suwon sit five points ahead of Seoul with a game in hand, making a first-place finish and automatic promotion a difficult proposition. The top two positions gain automatic promotion to K League 1 this season, while teams below can reach the playoffs. Manager Kim Do-kyun, who will become the club's longest-serving manager on November 11, has led the team to the playoffs in each of his seasons in charge. He previously won promotion from K League 2 with Suwon FC and kept that club in the top flight before joining Seoul E-Land.
