Alvarez Fires 1-Under 33 to Lead Oyster River; Exeter, Portsmouth Win Tuesday

Tuesday's Seacoast scoreboard featured medalist golf rounds from Joey Alvarez and Cooper Pettigrove plus wins for Portsmouth soccer and Exeter volleyball.

Oyster River sophomore Joey Alvarez earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 33 at Ponemah Golf Club, helping the Bobcats finish second in a four-team match won by Souhegan (190). Oyster River shot 198, with Owen Pierce adding a 39 and Wyatt Churchill, Parker Ahn and Eli Evans each carding 42. The Bobcats moved to 18-6 on the season.

Exeter also picked up a four-team golf victory, as Cooper Pettigrove's 1-over 37 led the Blue Hawks (199) past Bishop Guertin, Nashua South and Nashua Memorial at Sky Meadow Country Club. Exeter improved to 14-7, with Nolan Engler shooting a 38.

In boys soccer, Jack Moreau scored the only goal and Brock Anderson made eight saves as Portsmouth beat Concord 1-0 to move to 4-1-2. Dover handled Spaulding 5-0 behind two goals from Geffen Adorian, with Kyle Snow and Joey Curry also scoring.

The Portsmouth girls edged Concord 2-1 when Piper Hindle scored the winner with five minutes remaining. Hannah Martin had opened the scoring, and keeper Abby Craig made five saves as Portsmouth reached 5-2-1.

Riley Thomas posted two goals and two assists as St. Thomas Aquinas blanked ConVal 8-0 in Division II field hockey. In volleyball, Exeter downed Windham 3-1 behind Bria Healy's 20 digs, Evelyn Knab's 10 kills and 14 service points from Sophie Provost. Marshwood rallied past Noble 3-2, and York swept three-time defending Class A champion Gorham 3-0 behind Evie Martin.
