The conversation was prompted by a widely shared clip showing Haliburton taking a Southwest flight in coach on his way to WWE WrestleMania this year. He said he knows players who charter planes despite earning less than he does, and that after checking with his financial adviser, he concluded he could not justify flying private regularly because of how it makes him feel.
Haliburton told the podcast he rejected a $750,000 price quoted by a musical act while organizing his summer wedding to Jade Jones. He also called eBay one of the best sites anywhere, noting he has purchased items there since high school, and said he recently arranged through Facebook Marketplace to meet a seller in a Krispy Kreme parking lot to pick up turntables he is learning to DJ on. The seller initially failed to recognize him, he said.
Because he does not use his real name online, Haliburton said he submits aggressively low offers, sometimes around half the asking price or below. He added that if his next contract lands where he hopes, his discount shopping days may end, since at that level of wealth he would stop flying commercial altogether.
