Packers Week 3 Inactives Hinge on One Defensive Line Spot vs. Falcons

Green Bay has ruled out four players for Thursday night against Atlanta, leaving one game-day roster decision at defensive line.

The Green Bay Packers enter Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons with most of their game-day roster already settled. Four players have been ruled out, and according to Yahoo Sports' projection, the injuries come at positions where the team carries enough depth to absorb the losses.

The one open question is the final spot on the defensive line. Javon Hargrave and Anthony Campbell are both listed as questionable, and only four defensive linemen are certain to be active: Devonte Wyatt, Karl Brooks, Jonathan Ford and Chris McClellan. Warren Brinson has been ruled out with an injury.

If both Hargrave and Campbell sit, the Packers would likely have turned to Eric Johnson II, who joined the practice squad after arriving in Green Bay last week. However, the team did not elevate anyone from the practice squad, meaning at least one of Hargrave or Campbell will be active against Atlanta.

On offense, wide receiver Jayden Reed is out with an injury. Skyy Moore is projected to take over the slot role, with Bo Melton a candidate to split reps there after backing up Matthew Golden at the X position. Christian Watson and J. Michael Sturdivant project at Z, with rookie Golden and J. Michael Sturdivant rounding out the receiving group.

The offensive line is also shorthanded, with Zach Bako-Bewele and Aaron Banks ruled out. Banks went down with a toe injury in Week 2 after returning from the Week 1 absence. Travis Glover is expected to be active for the first time this season.

Quarterback Jordan Love is set to play, backed up by Tyrod Taylor. The kicking game features Trey Smack at kicker, Daniel Whelan at punter and Matt Orzech at long snapper, with no changes expected among the specialists.
