The Las Vegas Aces extended their winning streak to six games with an 89-79 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday night at Michelob ULTRA Arena. It was the team's final home game of the regular season, and it secured the third seed in the playoffs, giving Las Vegas home-court advantage for Sunday's opening game of a best-of-three series against an opponent still to be determined.
Jackie Young led the way as a playmaker with a season-high 11 assists to go with 14 points. Her second assist of the night moved her past Kristi Toliver into 25th place on the WNBA's all-time assists list. A'ja Wilson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for her 19th double-double of the season, and her first basket set a new personal and franchise single-season scoring record, surpassing the 1,021 points she scored in 2024. She is now at 1,039 and is the only player to top 1,000 points in multiple seasons.
Chelsea Gray added 17 points, Stephanie Talbot scored a season-high 14 on 6-for-8 shooting with three steals, and Jewell Loyd contributed nine points off the bench, all on three-pointers. Las Vegas built a 24-11 lead in the first quarter and stayed in front the rest of the way, pulling ahead 62-45 late in the third on three consecutive three-pointers. Nneka Ogwumike scored 17 for the Sparks, who took the season series loss 3-1 and closed within single digits at times but never caught up.
Despite the result, head coach Becky Hammon said the performance lacked rhythm and that she wanted better defensive focus, particularly in the fourth quarter, when the Sparks outscored the Aces 28-24. Las Vegas finished 15-7 at home and closes the regular season Thursday at Phoenix before the playoffs begin.
