Manchester City Enter Extended Break Unbeaten Under Enzo Maresca

Manchester City top the Premier League with a perfect record and seven straight wins in all competitions heading into an extended international break.

Manchester City head into an extended international break unbeaten, having won seven consecutive matches in all competitions under manager Enzo Maresca. The run leaves them top of the Premier League with five wins from five matches in the 2026-27 season.

City's recent results have come in different fashion. They came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1, won 4-1 at Crystal Palace, edged Coventry City 1-0 at the Etihad, and defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford while playing with ten men. A 2-0 win at Porto in the UEFA Champions League saw City hold the Portuguese side without a shot on target.

City also beat Norwich City 5-0 in the Carabao Cup and closed out the run with a 5-3 home win over Sunderland on Sunday. The Sunderland match featured chances at both ends, and the defending drew concern despite the three points.

Club football is paused for just under three weeks. When City return, they face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League before hosting PSG at the Etihad in their second Champions League league phase fixture.
