Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson has moved into the Defensive Player of the Year conversation after two games. He has posted eight tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble so far this season, and his sack in six consecutive games set a Lions franchise record.
Prediction market Kalshi Sports lists Hutchinson with a 21 percent chance to win the award, tied with Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt at the same figure. Hutchinson is in his fifth NFL season and recorded a career-best 14.5 sacks in 2025.
Watt has also opened strongly, with eight tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown and a pass deflection through two games for Pittsburgh.
Hutchinson will look to extend his sack streak to seven games when the Lions host the New York Jets on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. ET.
